My salsa circle is expanding!!
Once upon a time, only kenneth, porshee and geri came over to practice... That was last year. Slowly, it grew to include a few of my, or their, friends who wanted to learn as well. In the past month or so, I've begun inviting more of the ppl i know from fiesta etc and it's been amazing! Just two weeks ago, the previous time mon was a holiday, only 4 ppl stayed over. Last sunday, 12 ppl came over to dance while eddie, nelson and ruifen stayed till late. Just the day before yesterday, more than 10 came to practice while 9 of them stayed over!! That's the largest number of people i've EVER had staying over i think!
We didn't dance as much as i would have liked us to though... Eddie only joined us at 5.30am (!!!) before which we had watched starwars ep3 and played a few rounds of gin-rummy. Starwars was a total let down... the plot was good but the acting and the movie itself really sucked. It was very abrupt, as if the director was trying to squeeze in as much as he could within the alloted timespan. Granted, this is the so-called finale of the show, but this just means he didn't plan the first 2 very well! For example, Anakin went from "What have I done?!?!" to "I will serve you master" in less than 2mins! Hence, much of the dialogue was also very cheesy as they simply said what was needful rather than taking the time to show it and smoothen the scenes. Anyway, it really wasn't much... gave us something to laugh about afterwards :p
Too bad we didn't get to dance at Brix though. The others couldn't get in!! Hahaha, tracy and i are one of the youngest there but we got in! The rest arrived in a group so i think the bouncers got suspicious and started checking i/c's, which spelt the end of our extremely short sojourn to brix since NONE of them (besides peter) are over the 21 for girls/23 for guys age limit! I guess i just look mature ;) *GRINZ* a part of me was glad they didn't get in though, as i find the smoke and ppl a bit overpowering... Jitters is still the best place to dance, in my opinion :p The next day left me highly wanting though!! Ken, geri, eddie, ruifen and i hitched a ride to orchard where we lunched together at sakae sushi (the rest had already left). I didn't eat much coz of my sore throat, but the company was pleasant :) :) :) later, ken and geri left, but i needed to buy li's bday present (26th may!) so ed and ruifen accompanied me shopping ;D it was nice getting to know them better... Ruifen and i were teasing eddie that he doesn't walk, go down stairs, or turn normally! hahaha! so cute, he's such a salsa freak =) which reminds me that... he's attached!!! i was quite, quite surprised to hear that since i know that he wasn't attached just a few wks ago when we had our one and only cha cha lesson! He says he met the girl at union and she's from JJ's performance team :p mmm..... good dancer guy + good dancer girl = good dancer babies. haha!
dang i wanna be a good dancer girl!!! ;p
Ruifen's so natural it's amazing! I really, honestly think that if she found a suitable partner, they could compete (and win!) professionally. Both her parents dance apparently, so she's been exposed to that since childhood. Funny, but she only joined dance in JC; she was in rythmic gym in rgs, same as victoria, the other ultra-graceful person i know.. ;) sigh... i miss all my friends.. vic's been away for eons, van's got her own bunch of friends, li's drifting further away and i... i'm just wallowing around, getting fatter. Bah.
Wish yee yen would come back... haven't met up with the sea sports ppl in awhile and i REALLY want to play polo with them again!!
Here that guys?? I miss you...
